Jess recently read a book called Ready Player One. In the book, I guess a character is asked if he can recite an entire movie. Jess asked me this same question and I was embarrassed to tell her that I knew just about every line in Ready to Rumble.

When I was younger, I used to have a portable DVD player, which was like the coolest thing ever at the time. I would set up the portable DVD player, put in a movie, and then play video games on a bigger screen. This was back before I transformed my parents upstairs into my man cave with three TVs. Ready to Rumble was a DVD I watched a million times because it was a mindless film that I didn’t really have to pay attention to while I played video games.

So, I answered her question, I decided that we needed to watch this movie together. After watching it for the first time in years, I became inspired to write the following column on how this movie influenced wrestling in the 2000’s and today. Basically what I‘m saying is Jess should stop reading so many books and coming up with ideas because it leads to me coming up with ideas.
